Social Security Disability  

Most people think of Social Security as a program for retirees.  In fact, the Social Security Administration has a substantial program of benefits for disabled individuals.  When an adult cannot work due to an injury and/or medical condition, she/he may be eligble for financial benefits under the SSDI and/or SSI programs provided through the Social Security Act.  There are also provisions for children who have severe limitations.
