Alzheimer’s or Related Dementias of Loved Ones Support Group for Caregivers

Provided by Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ.  Meets July 29, August 26, September 30, October 28, November 25, December 3 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 570 W. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Suite 106, Livingston, NJ.  Call for info at 973-765-9050.

 

Alzheimer’s Spouse/Partner Telephone Support Group: For those caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or a related memory disorder. Mondays at 7 pm.  Facilitated by Ginny Abrams, LCSW.  Specifically for those with a memory disorder diagnosed for more than a year. Register by phone 973-726-3226 or online at www.dorotusa.org

Bereavement Support Group: Carol G. Simon Cancer Center in Morristown, NJ offers Bereavement Support group, as an 8-week program several times per year. Located at the Carol G. Brain Injury Support Group: Every 3rd Thursday of each month from 6:00 - 8:00 pm DAWN Center for Independent Living, 30 Broad Street, Suite 5, Denville If you need any disability-related accommodations, please call at least two weeks before the meeting is scheduled.  This group offers support for those with a brain injury and their family members to meet others in similar situations, gain support and friendships, and obtain information. Sibling Support Group: Sibshops are for kids between the ages of 8-12 years old who have a sibling with special needs.

Stroke Support Group: Stroke Support Group Meeting - (All Stroke Survivors and their Caregivers are welcome) Location:  Atlantic Health Rehabilitation Institute, 95 Mt. Kemble Avenue, Morristown, NJ - held on Ground Floor in the Msgr. VA NJ Health Care System now offers Caregiver Telephone Support Groups on a monthly basis for family caregivers of veterans who would like support through a call in group.  These groups are designed to focus on strategies to enhance resilience and restore balance.  They cover a new topic each month.  These groups are open to all family caregivers of veterans.   Please contact the Caregiver Support Program to register 973-676-1000 x3085.

 

WellSpouse Support Group Support for partners of the chronically ill and/or disabled. The second Monday of each month from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at the Chilton Collins Pavilion, 97 West Parkway, Pompton Plains, NJ Well Spouse is a national, not for profit membership organizations which gives support to wives, husbands and partners of the chronically ill and/or disabled.
